They are a bunch of fish covered in feathers trying to convince the public they can fly, and I am simply a bird in their midst.

It is too tempting. To have found someone who might even begin to understand the world he has lived in almost his entire life. He knows he should let it go, but he cannot.

No matter what that father of yours says, or how loudly he might say it. He forgets that he was someone's dream once, himself.

There may be decisions to make, and surprises in store. Life takes us to unexpected places sometimes. The future is never set in stone, remember that.

We are fish in a bowl, dear. Very carefully monitored fish. Watched from all angles. If one of us floats to the top, it was not accidental. 

The past stays on you the way powdered sugar stays on your fingers. Some people can get rid of it but it's still there, the events and things that pushed you to where you are now.

It is difficult to see a situation for what it is when you are in the midst of it. It is too familiar. Too comfortable. Your perspective is from the inside, after all. 

They think it is simple to pit any two people against each other. It is never simple. The other person becomes how you define your life, how you define yourself.
